Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends and Family,

Welcome to our very rudimentary attempts at a family blog! You may remember that in last year's Christmas card, we mentioned we planned to switch to an online format this year. In my mind (Carolynn's), I was thinking along the lines of an e-mail with a photo attached. Tim had much grander visions in mind (no surprise), but the execution of these visions is far beyond my technologically-challenged abilities. We are a work in progress, but we are hopeful that now we have crossed this little digital bridge, we will be able to provide more frequent updates on our lives and strengthen the connections we have with each of you. We have enjoyed so much receiving your cards and letters this Christmas season and thank you for keeping in touch!

That being said, we hope you enjoy our new and (hopefully) enhanced Christmas greeting, which allows us to share some of our favorite memories from this year. In addition to this post, please check out other features of our new blog, including the family videos linked below. (Note: when you click on the videos, just scroll up and a box will appear at the top of the blog for you to watch the video in.)

This year, as we have witnessed tragedies within our nation, as well as in our extended family, we have felt deeply grateful for the many blessings that surround us every day. We are grateful for three boys who love each other... and who genuinely have a great time together!

We are grateful for some wonderful marriage-strengthening international trips this year for Tim and me!

We are also grateful for time in Utah with both sides of our extended family whom we love so much!

We are grateful for so many dear friends, here in Texas and elsewhere. We are grateful for Caden's decision to get baptized and for the efforts of our other boys to strengthen their faith.

And right after! Also pictured is our great family friend, Iris Ceccarelli.
We are truly blessed. We wish for you a joyful Christmas season and a wonderful 2013.

Sincerely, Tim, Carolynn, Tristan, Gavin, and Caden Spencer
